Winter Wisdom

Resilience is ambrosia to the dehydrated soul. Life will push, pull, and tear us into parts until we learn that we have a divine right to rest in our equanimity. Equanimity rests on the shores of the eternal now. Winter is a time to wait in stillness and because our only purpose is to rest all efforts to move will feel like we are frozen. We do not need to fly or fight. We must embrace the state of surrender. For the active principle it will feel like we are wandering. Resilience is the moment of stillness before the sunrise of the coldest night on earth. We must bury ourselves deeper into the abyss seeking our own warmth. Resilience is the wisdom of winter. The tenacity to forge all our resources to survive a season that may outlast our reserves. But we gather anyway. We learn to thrive in the season through patience, surrender, and acceptance.

A clear vision of what is to come can be seen in the dead of winter. There are no leaves on the trees to hide the fragility of the branches. Branches that are overgrown represent the overextension of ourselves needing to return to the earth to replenish our roots. All that is dying but not resilient will not outlast the season. Our needs are amplified during this period of slow transformation. Let Winter reveal to you, her wisdom. In return you will find the secret to natures ability to regenerate.
